Cumann na mBunscol Finals 2014
Our first match was against Ballyea and we won it well. Our second match was against Broadford away. We knew this would be a tough match as they had won the mini 7’s competition. It was!! But we won it by 6 points. Our last match was against Barefield which also won. We were now into a semi-final which took place in Feakle against Feakle. This was quite an easy game and we were now into the hurling final in Cusack Park. We were very upset after the Feakle game that we didn’t get ice creams off Mr Curran, but he will make up for it after the final !!!!! So in the final we knew we had to play Broadford and it would not be easy and it wasn’t. After we got the team talk off we went out on to the pitch of Cusack Park while we were doing our warm up Conor Mc Daid went out for the toss to the referee Flann .Five minutes later the ref blew his whistle we were off all of a sudden Cian Galvin got an early goal to settle things down .So at half time we were level 1-2 to 1-2 .We were wrecked with that sun blazing down on us .It was a good game of hurling. In the last few minutes Cian had a free and lobbed it in and went in the back of the net .Knockanean were up by one point. In the last few seconds Broadford scored a goal and Flann blew the full time whistle shortly afterwards.

7 aside hurling 04/04/14
On Friday April 4th we all went to Clooney GAA pitch for the 7 aside hurling competition. Our first match was against Quin N.S and it was very tough. With goals from Gary Mulligan and Cian Galvin we managed to overcome the opposition. In the second match we played Doora N.S, literally a walk in the park. A strong performance by James Shaw and Tony Butler. Thirdly we played Clooney, they were very physical but in the end we triumphed against them with our fantastic skill. Last but not least we played Ballycar, we put on all our subs determined to make an impact. Bb scored a very very powerful goal. Not long after Joey swung his hurley and magically the ball went over the bar. In the second half Diarmuid O` Halloran showed great potential hoping to get onto the 1st team. In the end was a great day and we all had fun.
4th Class hurling blitz: On Wed April 2nd we all travelled to Eire Og Ennis to play a hurling blitz. The teams were mixed with Clarecastle. Boys and girls played on each team. We each played three matches. After our first game we had lunch and played two matches after lunch. There was a teacher per team and they refereed the games. We had a wonderful day!

Clarecastle were in the final with Quin.
