Sixth class basketball finals:
This year the finals of the Marion Keane basketball tournament took place in Lissycasey. When we arrived in Lissycasey, we put on our gear and got ready for our first match. We were playing St. Tola’s in the semi – final, we won by a couple of baskets. Then there was an exhibition match between Cloughleigh and Lissycasey. We then played our final against Sixmilebridge , but unfortunately, we lost!!!! We had a wonderful day and enjoyed our journey to the final.

Marion Keane Basketball Tournament
Knockanean went to the Ennis National School to play the first basketball match in our group. The starting team for the girls was Shauna Murphy, Aisling Reidy, Sadhbh Kelleher, Muireann Collins and Emma Ferguson. Irene Neylon, Alannah Moore, Gail Norton and Sally Brogan came on. The final score was 11 to Knockanean and 4 to Ennis National. The boys played a great match. The starting team was Ben Ryan, Conor Mc Daid, Conor Kelleher, Kevin Nugent and Bb. Alan Killeen, Ben Cosgrove and Cian Roughan came on. In the end Knockanean won both matches.
Our second round of games was against the Holy Family in Gurteen . Both boys and girl won both their matches. Next up was Scoil Chroist Rí , Cloughleigh. This was that school in which Marion Keane worked. If we won here both boys and girls would come out of their groups- which we did!!
We are now in the quarter finals of this competition. The girls will play Toonagh and the boys will play Gaelscol Mhilil Chiosóg .
